The Skilled Occupations List (SOL)

The Skilled Occupations List (SOL) was announced by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) in May 2010 and has been effective from 1 July 2010 to apply to all applications under the General Skilled Migration (GSM) program, except where transitional arrangements are likely to be provided for.

The SOL is based on the Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations (ANZSCO) and reflects the high-value skills Australia needs. The list will continue to be updated annually at a minimum, to reflect changes in the needs of Australia's labour market.

The Skilled Occupations List SOL was most recently revised on 1 July 2011.

Visa eligibility and approval depends on the applicant's individual circumstances. To find out if you're eligible for an Australian Skilled Migration visa, take Working In's free online eligibility assessment.
