How much will my visa cost?
The fees and charges for Australian visa applications were increased as of 1 July 2009, following their annual review. Use the most recent version of the Department of Immigration and Citizenship’s Form 990i, to ensure you pay the correct amount.
If you sent your application by post prior to 1 July, but it was not received until on or after that day, the new fee will be applied. However, if your application was lodged before these changes, you should refer to the Form 990i version that was applicable when you submitted your application:
- Form 990i (January 2009)
- Form 990i (October 2008)
- Form 990i (September 2008)
- Form 990i (July 2008)
- Form 990i (April 2008)
- Form 990i (January 2008)
- Form 990i (September 2007)
- Form 990i (July 2007)
- Form 990i (April 2007)
- Form 990i (January 2007)
- Form 990i (October 2006)
- Form 990i (July 2006)
It is vitally important that you pay the correct amount, as your application will be deemed invalid if submitted with the wrong payment, rendering it subject to significant delays.
Paying for your visa overseas
If you pay for your application from outside Australia, you will need to refer to the new Form 990i (July 2009) to determine the AUD amount and then use the 1 July 2009 Currency Converter to find out the amount that will be payable in the country where your application will be lodged.
It is also important that you check the accepted methods of payment at Australian Missions in different countries.
