Assistance and support all the way

Health Workforce Queensland will assist you with finding the right position, factoring in the needs of your family. We will assist you with all of the processes required to commence in your new position, including visas. We will meet and greet you at the airport on arrival and provide you, and your family, with accommodation in Brisbane while you complete an orientation program that will introduce you to our health care system.

Health Workforce Queensland can also provide ongoing support to you through our Locum Service and Medical Education & Training events. We will provide support to your family through the Queensland Rural Medical Family Network. Depending on the location you relocate to, we may also be able to assist you with obtaining ongoing financial incentives through the Rural Retention Program.

All of our Recruitment & Locums staff are “Accredited Recruitment Professionals”.

Our primary objectives are to:

• Increase the number of GP services and increase access to GP services in rural and remote Queensland
• Retain GPs in rural and remote Queensland
• Support upskilling of GPs and other supporting health professionals in rural and remote Queensland
• Develop sustainable models for general practice in rural and remote Queensland
• Establish benchmark workforce data and research to inform and direct policy
