Specialised Welding Australia Pty Ltd / TVS Total Valve Services

Specialised Welding Australia factoryAbout us

Specialised Welding Australia (SWA), a fabrication company established in 1973, has developed specialist expertise, building a sound reputation of consistently providing high quality products and professional engineering services to the oil and gas, petrochemical and mining industries. It has grown to employ around 100 personnel with an annual turnover of more than $20 million.

Some of SWA’s current clients include Western Australia giants such as Woodside, BHP Billiton, BP and Alcoa.

“SWA is known for its high-quality manufacturing using high performance alloys, particularly exotic alloys, in the mechanical and thermal design and manufacture of pressure vessels and heat exchangers for mineral processing and oil and gas refineries.

SWA has assisted major projects in Australia and South East Asia supplying reactors for BP's refinery in Western Australia, stacked heat exchangers for Caltex Brisbane and various equipment for Shell Eastern Petroleum Singapore.”
WA Business News, June 16, 2008.

With modern purpose-built premises at 1280 Abernethy Road, just off Great Eastern Highway at the northern side of Perth International Airport, the new workshops, hardstanding and offices ensure that we will provide even better service to all our customers for many years to come.

Specialised Welding had operated a valve and pressure testing laboratory between 1986 and 2001 when it was decided to set Total Valve Services (TVS) up as a separate fully owned operating division. Total Valve Services continues to flourish as a separate operating division but very much a part of Specialised Welding, operating out of the same site on Abernethy Road, Hazelmere.

The two businesses compliment each other in many ways and between them can offer a service and repair capacity that is without equal in Australia.

As an operating division of Specialised Welding, TVS in partnership with its parent company offers a unique total valve and pressure test service:

  • Valve inspection, refurbishment and re-certification
  • Machining of damaged areas of valves
  • Weld build up and repairs to valves
  • Re-machining valves to original design geometry
  • Engineered modifications
  • Re-certification and registration of valves and skids
  • Vessel inspection & repair
  • Pipework inspection & repair
  • Instrumentation equipment inspection & repair

Growth for SWA and exciting times in Western Australia

Recently merged with Singapore-based engineering firm Profab International, SWA will retain its name and businesses under the Profab International group banner, combining our specialist skills in exotic metals with Profab's carbon steel expertise to offer clients a complete end to end suite of services.

The press is also heralding boom times again in WA with “the State is seen as a rare beacon of economic growth amid the global financial crisis… A record 512 new businesses came to WA in the 12 months to June 30, according to figures from the Small Business Development Corporation, bringing with them $877 million in new capital… Skilled migration also climbed, with 3958 skilled migrants moving to WA mainly from India, China, South Africa the UK.”
Vivienne Ryan, The West Australian October 1, 2009.

This all means that we are looking for the best!
