Australia’s National Broadcast Network (NBN) is looking for workers to fill a range of roles, including system engineers, network planners, testers, systems architects, project managers and IT professionals.
The hiring spree is due to the rolling out of a government’s ambitious infrastructure project that NBN has been charged with. The company now wants to triple its headcount from 100 to 300 by the middle of the year. Recruitment experts are warning about shortages, as the eight-year project is set to create as many as 25,000 jobs.
According to NBN human resources office Kevin Brown, the recent announcement of a $23 million deal with Accenture will allow the company to focus on hiring while Accenture will look after the administrative tasks related to the workforce expansion process.
