The Rail Infrastructure Manager will join their rail business group which currently includes a diversity of resources and product covering Technical Advice, Design, Verification, Regulation, Rail operations and Business planning, Asset Management, Safety and Risk. The key objective of this newly created position will be to direct and facilitate high quality work outputs for the Rail Infrastructure team in the North & East of Australia and New Zealand and to ensure profitability of projects.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the Rail Infrastructure (North, East & New Zealand) team in identifying and setting business targets. Including regular meetings to identify emerging business opportunities and tenders, and to co-ordinate the team to ensure a proactive approach is taken for all opportunities Establish, with senior management, the budget for the team for each financial year.
- Manage the progress of all projects within their team ensuring that all reports and correspondence clearly satisfy the clients stated requirements and that any potential risks are managed and/or escalated. Identify and agree other non-financial performance targets as may be required by the business, such as the recruitment, training and development of staff.
- Assist with the annual development review of the 3 year strategies business plan and objectives including: Market analysis & servicing.
- Manage client relationships and external/internal service providers.
- Review the capability to bid on potential tenders and to deliver proposal requirements.
- Implement performance measures for projects and set targets for continuous improvement.
- Manage the effective delivery of the Performance Review process for all direct reports.
- Identify and prioritise training needs to ensure current and future business needs are matched.
- Excellent project management skills and a proven track record in successful project delivery
- Experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strong commercial acumen and proven experience in winning new business
- Good knowledge of the Australian rail market or the ability to quickly gain it
