There are currently positions available for emergency physicians in an outer-metropolitan hospital in Perth, Western Australia.
The physician-designed emergency department sees up to 47,000 cases per annum, with a 10-15% admission rate in a 100 + bed hospital. The facility provides general medicine and surgical services, with a 6 bed intensive care department to open in January 2011.
The department is well staffed with junior doctors, senior non-specialists, and an excellent nursing team. This position is an ideal opportunity to join a progressive, friendly department, in a growing facility.
Perth is a stunning city on the Western coast of Australia, with excellent community facilities, sport, schools, universities, restaurants, and cultural activities. Perth is within easy driving distance of the Margaret River wine region, for those who enjoy outstanding wine and food. It is within closer reach to Asia and Europe, and there are regular flights to Australian capital cities.
Candidates must be eligible for Fellowship of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine, and medical registration in Australia.
