Water within Australia is a resource that is heavily in demand for industrial and municipal use, although being the driest continent in the world this is a resource that needs to be managed efficiently in order to ensure future generations will be sustainable. This demand has produced the development of numerous desalination plants throughout Australia, however this is only part of the solutions and the water catchments need to be managed to ensure the existing water resources and aquifers are protected. This is seen through water recycling programs, stormwater harvesting systems and sustainable urban drainage systems amongst other initiatives. This demand has also produced a demand for hydrologists and water resource engineers, which are currently in shortage in Australia, and as such numerous organisations are welcoming applications from overseas candidates within these disciplines. Due to this a number of my clients within engineering consultancies and contracting organisations are seeking Senior and Principal Water Resource Engineers to compliment their existing skills in offices throughout NSW, VIC, QLD and WA.

I would be keen to hear from civil focused water engineers either from a water treatment, drainage design, hydrology or mine water management background that would be interested in relocating to Australia at relatively short notice. There are options to become involved in turn-key projects that will change the face of the water industry in Australia and you will be highly rewarded for your expertise.
