You’ll initially be involved in:
 
  • The collection, analysis and evaluation of geotechnical data
  • Assisting mining engineers/ geologists with designing and implementation of optimal stopes, spans and pillar designs
  • Preparation and issuing of ground control designs
  • Underground project works and studies
 
The position reports to the Senior UG Geotechnical Engineer, and you should possess a recognised tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or Geology with 3-4 years experience in UG  geotechnical engineering. Experience with numerical modeling, preferably Map 3D and with mine design software will be very advantageous. Enthusiasm and a good work-ethic with excellent verbal and written communication skills will be valued.
