This role needs a switched on Senior Surveyor who understands the need for innovative thinking and robust initiatives.
 
You will be responsible for all survey control required to achieve short to medium term production & development targets for this underground mining operation. Providing direction and technical advice to a site based surveying team is also a necessary component of this role.
 
Essentially you will have:
 
  • Tertiary qualifications in Mine Surveying
  • At least 10-15 years underground experience
  • Previous experience in a senior role
  • Experience with survey based software, also familiarity with drafting and modelling programmes for ore-body definitions and mine planning would be an advantage
  • Good planning & organisational skills
 
To excel in this leadership role you must demonstrate the following:
 
  • Show a high level of enthusiasm and drive for continuous improvement within the survey team
  • Demonstrate a pro-active and team oriented approach
  • Ensuring all surveying activities are carried out safely, in accordance with company standards and legislative requirements
  • Provide technical leadership to your team
  • Responsibility for the spatial integrity of all underground datasets
  • Develop and improve survey standards and procedures
  • Assist the survey team to deliver actuate survey control for development layouts, production drill mark-ups, check surveys and miscellaneous layouts in a timely manner
