Electrix is a high profile, successful and innovative major contracting company providing a range of construction and maintenance services to the electricity and mining industries in Australia.
Our business partners include national electricity asset owners and major mining and industrial companies.
Electrix currently has a vacancy for an experienced Project Manager/Engineer for our Perth operation. There are further opportunities for personal growth and professional development in this exciting and challenging role.
Your main duties will be to carry to plan and implement all projects to ensure they are completed on time, to an appropriate quality standard and to achieve planned profit or better as per project bid targets.
Skills and Qualities Required:
- Proven Project Management experience, 5 years or more.
- Qualified Electrical Engineer
- Ordering of the major items of materials and equipment for projects.
- Planning the project using computer based planning packages to ensure milestones are achieved and resources optimised.
- Achieving project margins, identifying any problems with cost and time implications and taking corrective action as required.
- Completing all required company and contractual reporting correctly and on time.
- Re-estimating labour to complete the job at the end of each month.
- Identifying and submitting all variations to the client for authorisation.
- Ensuring that both Electrix and the client comply with the Contract Agreement.
- Presenting monthly progress claims correctly on the due dates.
- Managing labour to maintain excellent productivity and industrial relations.
- Applying the industry codes of practice and ensuring they are complied with on each project.
- Ensuring safe working methods and the requirements of legislation are followed and communicated to all staff through regular site meetings.
- Ensuring the highest standards of Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality performance are achieved.
- Previous experience with industria/ mining plant required.
