We are seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified people for the position of QA Graduate Engineer to assist in the projects QA section for our Dalrymple Bay project located within the Hay Point precincts near Mackay in central Queensland.
The project involves the expansion of the Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal including the widening of the existing 3.85 km jetty and an associated road pavement. It includes the construction of a 420 m berth to the north, with berthing and mooring dolphins, construction of a third out loading conveyor system up to the existing wharf conveyors including a transfer tower and drive station.
Project works include the placement of 400 steel piles, 1200 mm diameter, 12 or16 mm thickness, weighing 7.1 and 7.4 tonnes respectively. The piles are 20m long and spliced to meet seabed depth requirements. Overall, the project involves the supply and fabrication of approximately 7,900 tonnes of structural steel.
We would welcome expressions of interest from Engineering Graduates with two years experience in a QA role (preferably).
Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, assisting with the following:
• Develop and implement QA systems and practices to support the Quality Plan
• Assess suppliers quality systems for compliance with Quality requirements
• Perform audit activities to verify compliance with Project/contract requirements.
• Assess, analyse, report and recommend to the management team on issues
• Ensure understanding of the Project’s quality objectives
• Provide training and development of quality management practices
• Report results of audits and management reviews
• Continually review Project planning / construction for areas of risk and compliance
• Assessment and verification of Project’s progress and performance
• Implement non-conformance control systems
• Proactively contributing to maintain our zero harm focus
Ideally we are seeking a recent graduate with 2-3 years solid experience
The project is located at Dalrymple Bay, approximately 40 km by road south of Mackay, on the Central Queensland coast. Car pooling is usually available using site vehicles. Working hours are 6am to 5pm each day and 8 hours on a Saturday with two weekends off per month (one long weekend). The project is manned on a residential basis, (no FIFO) with LAHA and project allowances payable as applicable, This is a ‘project’ appointment (approx 6 months) with the opportunity to be considered for additional project work after the assignment which is very likely.
