Located in comfortable offices only a short drive from home with next to no traffic, you will lead a vibrant team of committed Engineering professionals and have the scope to influence the direction of key developments at the underground Cu/Au sub level open stope mine and surrounding projects. You will also provide vital input to the strategic mine planning team and work on the longer term goals.
Key objectives of the role include:
Ensure safe, cost effective work methods are utilised that contribute to the overall success of the mine.
Investigate potential hazards and rockfalls as they occur and report on each.
Provide technical support for the mine business plan
Regular inspections of all active development headings and stopes
Ensure off lease blast vibrations stay under regulatory limits
Regular shaft inspections
Ground support audits
Update block and stope notes for designated section of the mine
Contribute to ongoing continuous improvement activities
You will also have the opportunity to utilise continuous improvement activities to be conducted with industry research and will be able to attend presentations where applicable. The company strongly encourages keeping abreast of industry developments and will sponsor relevant post graduate study.
You will ideally be a tertiary qualified and experienced Geotechnical Engineer with proven experience in underground mining, preferably within an open stope environment.
