John Holland is one of Australia’s leading construction and engineering companies, with a record of achievement in the Power, Rail, Structural Mechanical Process, Telecoms, Mining and Water sectors with work in hand of approximately 6.0 billion dollars. We are seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified people for the position of Commissioning and Shutdown Engineer. You will be required to provide commissioning and shutdown planning and implementation assistance to John Holland’s Structural Mechanical Process Division projects throughout Australia.
Essential pre-requisites for this position include mechanical and or electrical engineering qualifications which meet Australian Institute of Engineers membership standards, together with a minimum of five (5) years relevant construction experience. You will be based in Brisbane, and expected to travel to various project sites as requirements dictate.
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
• Preparation and review of shutdown and commissioning schedules & procedures
• Ensuring project compliance with relevant commissioning and shutdown standards
• Supporting projects with information relevant to plant testing and commissioning
• Monitoring project pre-commissioning, testing and final commissioning activities
• Monitoring and assessing operator training competency standards
• Ensuring relevant customer service and professional standards
• Ensuring compliance with the project quality plan
• Reporting on quality issues in line with policy and procedures
• Ensuring compliance with environmental requirements
• Ensuring the integrity of commercial relationships, practices and outcomes
• Keeping abreast of the latest market movements, trends and innovations.
• Advising about technical improvements where appropriate
• Ensuring scope of work and shutdown implementation and evaluation
• Maintaining a policy of ‘zero harm’ safety standards
