We are seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified people for the position of Construction Planner for our X25 project located at the Abbot Point coal terminal in central Queensland.

The brownfields project is located at Abbot Point, approximately 30 km by road north of Bowen, of the sub tropical paradise of Bowen, on the Central Queensland coast. The duration of the project is expected to be around 12 months, however, opportunity for ongoing work on other projects in the region is very likely. The site of the proposed works is within the boundaries of the existing operating terminal. Works include upgrades to dump stations, in loading system, stockyard and ship loader. Ideally, we are seeking someone with a technical/trade background with experience in structural mechanical and civil related projects.

Preferred pre-requisites for this position include construction management, engineering degree or advanced trade qualifications or equivalent, together with solid practical experience as part of a scheduling/planning team on medium to large heavy construction projects (5 years preferred). Competency with Primavera planning software is essential.

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

• Liaising with Project Managers, Engineers, Area Managers and Superintendents
• Ensuring project compliance with relevant planning standards and protocols
• Supporting projects with information relevant to project planning strategies
• Critical path analysis and monthly progress updates reporting
• Ensuring relevant customer service and professional standards
• Ensuring compliance with the project quality plan
• Keeping abreast of the latest planning trends, software and innovations
• Reporting on planning issues in line with policy and procedures
• Ensuring compliance with safety and environmental requirements
• Ensuring the integrity of commercial relationships, practices and outcomes
• Advising about technical improvements where appropriate
• Maintaining a policy of ‘zero harm’ safety standards
