Department of Main Roads is investing $16.2 billion over the next five years on road and transport infrastructure that will connect our future, while simultaneously managing the State’s largest asset – some 35,500 km of road network valued at over $37 billion.
There are presently three Project Manager vacancies in our Major Projects division. These roles will be involved in delivering major projects such as Busways, Pacific Motorway Upgrade, Ipswich Motorway Upgrade and Bruce Highway Upgrade.
As Project Manager you will plan, coordinate and manage the concept planning, development and implementation phases of nominated road or transport infrastructure projects, to ensure completion in accordance with required timeframes, cost, quality and service standards. Therefore, your understanding of various delivery methods including standard contracts, early contractor involvement and alliances is imperative.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Project planning, development and implementation
- Progress reporting and budget management
- People management
- Stakeholder relations
- Project governance
Formal Civil Engineering and Project Management qualifications would be highly regarded however are not mandatory. To be successful in these roles, you will be able to demonstrate strong civil engineering project management experience in a major infrastructure environment.

The remuneration package for these SO1 roles ranges from $149,110 - $156,015 including a 2 year infrastructure program loading, which is reviewable at the end of that term.
