Department of Main Roads are investing $16.2 billion over the next five years on road and transport infrastructure that will connect our future, while simultaneously managing the State’s largest asset – some 35,500 km road network valued at over $37 billion.
Main Road's Mackay/Whitsunday Region is seeking a Town Planner to assess development applications and provide input to strategic planning for the region's road network. As a Town Planner, you will be involved in a number of projects varying in size, budget and location.
The requirements:
- Town planning experience specifically in development assessment
- Have a working knowledge of planning and development legislation, desirably with the Integrated Planning Act 1997 (Qld)
- Degree or higher qualification in Urban and Regional Planning or equivalent
- Eligible for Corporate Membership of the Planning Institute of Australia
- Strong team focus, excellent communication and problem solving skills
- Experience in GIS applications is desirable

- Salary package between $78,000 - $85,000 (including superannuation and incentive scheme)
