Civil Construction Project Manager needed
Primary Objective of the Role:
The Project Manager is responsible for on-site performance, administrative functions and the overall project success. Your role is to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, meet performance quality, safety and environmental objectives, and that the customer is satisfied with the companys performance.
Principal Duties/Responsibilities/Tasks:
1. Management
Review projects with the estimators to finalise the project budget.
Assess risks and opportunities associated with the projects.
Overview the construction program to ensure resourced efficiently and milestones are met.
Review and maintain construction documentation and correspondence to ensure compliance with quality, safety and environmental requirements.
Conduct start-up and progress meetings in conjunction with the Construction Supervisor.
Produce accurate monthly claims for each project within the clients nominated time period.
Plan, monitor, control and report project timelines, milestones and profitability.
Report actual completion date against approved completion date.
Complete projects on time.
Continually review work methods/practices to identify opportunities for improvement.
Regular meetings with Construction Supervisor for feedback on the projects.
Provide feedback to Human Resources on training needs, recruitment needs and disciplinary action to be taken.
Liaise with supervisor and identify and implement methodology.
Team building.
2. Mentoring
Provide support, advice and assistance to the Construction Supervisor.
Encourage a positive culture within the field.
Promote an open door policy.
Proven ability to work as a team player, sharing knowledge, contributing proactively to achieving team goals and providing coaching and guidance to less experienced team members.
Review performance and development outcomes.
3. Client Liaison
Attend meetings as arranged by the client.
Regularly inform client of project status.
Review timelines to ensure projects meet clients expectations.
Communicate project status to the client.
Monitor and report on customer service performance.
4. Quality Improvement
Attend monthly Tool Box Meetings as arranged by the Project Supervisor to identify areas for improvement in the field.
Implement new processes to improve the ability of the field personnel to exceed delivery standards.
Identify and document potential risks to projects and develop effective control strategies to minimise risk.
