Position: Construction, Project Coordination
Project Supervisors wanted!
Primary Objective:
The Project Supervisor is responsible for the overall on-site coordination, including supervision of personnel, plant, suppliers and materials. The incumbent is required to ensure that client projects are carried out with the highest possible safety standards and quality service on time and within budget.
Principal Duties/Responsibilities/Tasks:
1. Project Planning
Before and during each project the project supervisor will meet with the project manager to understand the project scope, productivity targets and risks associated with the works.
Ensure that all activities are carried out in compliance with the requirements of the employer's Quality Management System.
Forward planning of plant, personnel and materials to ensure that the project site personnel can complete the works in the most productive and cost effective manner.
Meet with the project personnel to identify obstacles and provide advice and action on improvement and implementation.
2. Site Supervision
Meet with each team daily and record plant utilisation, productivity and timesheets, compile the information and forward to the project manager.
Assess the standard and quality of work by checking construction of the works constructed on the correct alignment and depth.
Complete daily on site safety meetings, correlate information and provide the information to the project manager within the designated timeline.
Provide crews with direction, feedback and the projected timeline for the completion of the project.
3. Mentoring & Coaching
Participate positively as a member and leader of a team, and maintain good working relationships with other team members.
Provide support, mentoring and coaching to site personnel.
Complete performance appraisals with the site personnel in accordance with the employer's Performance Review System; provide feedback to the Project Manager on training needs and reward or disciplinary action.
Communicate and train employees to understand and comply with company policies and procedures.
4. On site Safety & Quality
Organise and carry out monthly Tool Box Meetings to identify areas for improvement in the field.
Meet with site personnel, discuss and implement continuous improvements to exceed the company and the customers delivery standards.
Carry out work in accordance with safe work practices and standards.
Identify and implement business improvement and development opportunities.
Qualifications
Required:
5 years experience in the field installing and maintaining utilities or equivalent and appropriate accreditations.
2 years prior supervisory and mentoring experience.
Computer literacy and experience using Microsoft Office suite.
Demonstrated ability to work as an effective Team Member, with an emphasis on communication skills.
Above average people leadership skills.
Senior First Aid Certificate.
