Over the next 5 years the Department of Main Roads are investing $13.3 billion on road and transport infrastructure that will connect our future, while simultaneously managing the State’s largest asset – some 34,000 km of road network valued at over $35 billion.
There are two openings in our Rockhampton district Senior Design Drafters. You will be preparing and reviewing planning and preliminary design and detail design projects for the Road Implementation Program.
You will be responsible for:
- Using your technical knowledge to provide assistance and advice on the planning, design, and quality issues for road infrastructure projects
- Managing your own work standards as well as any relevant teams or specialist to ensure target objectives relating to time cost and quality are achieved.
- Contributing to the technical specialist management of design consultancies, and monitoring of relevant standards and specifications
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Associate degree in civil engineering or acceptable equivalent
- A current driver's license
- 2 – 3 years experience in modelling (using 12D, Moss, Autodesk) preferably in the field of roads infrastructure otherwise sub division, dams or mechanical
- Sound communication skills, exposure to project management principles and team orientated
