Be A Key Member Of A Team Providing Cutting-Edge Legal Risk Management Advice
Macquarie’s Real Estate Capital (REC) business is a leading specialist in property investment banking and funds management. Its global activities include managing listed and unlisted funds with investment products suitable for both retail and wholesale investors. Due to growth of its businesses and involvement in a number of large-scale transactions in Australia and overseas, REC is seeking to expand its in-house legal team to include a property lawyer within their Sydney team.
Reporting to the Head of Legal for REC, you will play an active role in managing the legal aspects of significant transactions including the establishment of new investment products and the acquisition/disposal of high-value assets or businesses by existing funds. Your participation will capture involvement in transactions within Australia and overseas.
Working closely within our business and external entities such as joint-venture partners, clients, legal and regulatory groups you will be actively involved in arrange of legal issues. These will capture new product development, preparation and verification of public and private offer documents, management of legal due diligence on assets, businesses and new joint venture partners and communicating outcomes with management. Additionally you will be expected to provide written and verbal advice on a range of legal issues, review advertising material and disclaimers on presentations as well as interact with the wider Macquarie business divisions relating to the establishment of new businesses or initiatives.
You will:
hold appropriate tertiary qualifications
demonstrate a progressive work history within a Real Estate or Property Funds Management environment ideally in-house or as a specialist within a real estate team in a legal practice
have gained experience working on complex transactions which have required extensive documentation and due-diligence and interaction at all levels
hold right of residency to work in Australia
be commercial and pro-active in your approach
