Calling all Plant Mechanics for one of WA's leading of metal products around Australasia.
RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Reliability of all Mobile Plant
Maintaining all Mobile Plant
Working safely and effectively with other maintenance personnel
GENERAL OBJECTIVES:
Ensure that all mobile plant, mobile equipment and trucks are reliable, in good safe working order, available for production and that costs are within budget limitations. Continuously seek to improve the productivity and safety of all plant equipment and trucks.
KEY SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
1. Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic, or recognised equivalent.
2. Extensive experience with hydraulics, preferably with formal training.
KEY RESULT AREAS & RESPONISIBILITIES
1. Safely maintain all mobile plant, mobile equipment and trucks in a reliable and safe working order.
2. Find root cause of reliability problems and implement solution.
3. With the assistance of the Maintenance Manager, be involved with finding the most cost effective solutions to maintenance problems and ensure that the maintenance costs are controlled.
3. Assist Yard Managers and Supervisors with both breakdown support where appropriate, and manage the routine servicing of mobile plant in a safe and timely fashion.
4. Implement and maintain, in consultation with the Maintenance Manager, preventative maintenance programmes, including appropriate histories for each key item of plant and equipment.
5. With the assistance of the Maintenance Manager, monitor/liaise/drive the services of outside engineering resources, when necessary, for work such as:-
• Major overhauls
• Specific Machining jobs
• Supply of urgent parts
6. Maintain records for the Maintenance Manager, detailing:-
• Costs incurred in maintenance
• Major stoppages, and time taken to return to production
• Programmed maintenance for the coming month
• Review reliability of key items of plant and equipment
7. Recommend stock levels of all consumables for mobile plant and equipment spares. Adhere to the purchase and issue procedure for these consumables and other parts.
8. Actively participate in the maintenance of the Quality System
