Department of Main Roads are investing $13.3 billion over the next five years on road and transport infrastructure that will connect our future, while simultaneously managing the State’s largest asset – some 34,000 km of road network valued at over $35 billion.
As a result we are seeking to appoint a Principal Engineer (Road Asset Systems) to be based at our Spring Hill Office.
You will be responsible for:
- Leading the development of policies, strategies, processes and systems to guide those managing road infrastructure
- Undertaking business analysis on Pavement Management Systems
- Providing advise and assistance to the Director (Road Asset Management) in strategic initiatives in road asset management, including major asset investment studies at the network strategic level, and in advising senior management.
- Providing proven and reliable engineering and technical advice on road asset management services.
You will ideally have a roads based (road engineering) backround and a knowledge of Pavement Management Systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Possession of a degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent Civil Engineering qualification which is acceptable for Corporate Membership of the Institution of Engineers, Australia.
Eligibility for Registration as a Professional Engineer in Queensland (RPEQ). Successful applicant must endeavour to obtain registration within a six month period from appointment date.
The remuneration package for this role ranges from $79,300 – $85,000 plus a 2 year loading of between $19,800 – $21,200 which is reviewable at the end of the period. Main Roads also provides excellent benefits including flexible work hours and salary packaging options.
