Six Sigma Specialist

BHP Billiton Nickel West are seeking Six Sigma Specialists.

Your Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities are:

 Provide leadership through the use of Six Sigma methodology on key projects and initiatives.
 Mentor and coach project team members in the use of Six Sigma and Lean principles.
 Identify business improvement opportunities by liaising with departments.
 Report on business improvement projects including their associated benefits.
 Participate in, facilitate and model effective project meetings.
 Transfer and receive information and learning through effective networking within BHP Billiton and the broader mining industry.

 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
 Ability to work successfully at all levels of the organization
 Provide evidence of computer literacy with regard to software packages used
 Possess the ability to analyse statistical information/ data
 Ability to work in a diverse number of working environments (eg: field operations, maintenance, processing, support management)
 Degree qualified in a business or technical discipline; or an equivalent combination of practical experience and education in large scale process driven industries (eg Mining, Manufacturing, Financial etc).
 Influencing, coaching and mentoring skills
 Experience within the mining industry would be well regarded, though not essential.
 Experience in managing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives
 Commitment to safety and the environment
 An accredited black belt, or willingness to gain accreditation, would also be viewed favourably.
 Experience in the use of Six Sigma and/or Lean in the workplace would be highly regarded.
