Principal Environmental Scientist (Geohydrology)

Location: Victoria, Melbourne CBD

Position: Science & Technology, Geology

In this challenging opportunity you wil join the Geo-Environmental Workgroup where you will be involved with hydrogeological, contaminated land & site remediation in petrochemical, chemical manufacturing, property development & government industries.

As a part of the Melbourne office you will help lead and further develop the environmental and hydrogeological site assessment, risk assessment and hydro-chemistry capabilities within URS Melbourne.

Overall responsibilities include proposal writing/directing, project delivery, business planning, reporting, peer review, risk management, technical analysis, project management and project direction, commercial negotiations, industry liaison, staff training and mentoring and other responsibilities consistent with the appointment as a Principal of the firm.

Your experience should include professional advice and solution-based management of environmental issues related to industrial wastes, analytical chemistry and contamination of land and groundwater. You will need to be familiar with and have a demonstrable track record in associated work such as data collection, data quality review and data interpretation, legislative review and interpretation, risk assessment and report writing. You should also have demonstrable project management experience, with a strong understanding of the market for site contamination and waste management consultancy services in Australia, or a successful track record of experience in an equivalent area.
