What you need is:
• A degree in Mine Engineering
• At least 5 years in an Open Pit environment
• Good sound knowledge of mine design and blast plan computer packages
• A "can do" attitude with good leadership and communication skills.
YOUR main responsibility would be to coordinate and lead the drill and blast function of a huge open pit operation and to ensure robust planning procedures are in place that enables the site to achieve monthly production and quality targets while steadfastly complying with all safety policies and procedures (we don't need any cowboys!!) because you have a couple of youngsters to mentor, so its really important that you to lead by example .
