MINING ENGINEER - $147-128K – OPEN PIT

If you are an Open Pit Mining Engineer with a strong technical bias, then you can’t go wrong with this one because the role is expected to move senior within 6 – 12 months.

You’ll be joining is a global leader in mining on one of their many world-class operations where there is a clear focus on corporate objectives and the development of their people to further build on an enviable reputation and a very strong future. You will have the option to stay in open pit or if you’ de like to pick up some underground skills, there is the option to move underground in ’09.

Responsibilities will include;
• Pit Optimisation and Design
• Medium term Planning & Scheduling (out to 6 – 12 months)
• Mentoring the graduates

The job requires a degree qualified mining engineer with at least 4-5 years experience in open pit. You will need to be a highly motivated self-starter (which I’m sure you are) with good communication skills. The role has a technical slant. You will need to have good computer skills, particularly in mine design software (ideally Vulcan)
