If you are looking to make an investment into your future, then this deposit will challenge your potential while expanding your Geotechnical and Mining skills. Mining such a geotechnical challenging ore body requires innovative and robust initiatives as well as an appreciation for various mining methods.
You’ll initially be involved in :
• The collection, analysis and evaluation of geotechnical data
• Assisting mining engineers/geologists with designing and implementation of optimal stopes, spans and pillar designs.
• Preparation and issuing of ground control designs
• Training of operators and staff in ground awareness.
• Underground project works and studies
• Liaising with external mining consultants.
The position reports to the Senior UG Geotechnical Engineer, and you should possess a recognised tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or Geology with the relevant experience as a Geotechnical Engineer with metalliferous UG mining. Experience with numerical modeling, preferably Map 3D and with mine design software will be very advantageous. Enthusiasm and a good work-ethic with excellent verbal and written communication skills will be valued.
