GEOTECHNICAL SUPERINTENDENT

Position: Mining, Geotechnical Engineering

Your main responsibility would be to provide geotechnical leadership to the Technical Services and Mine Departments through coordination of geotechnical and backfill services to determine ground conditions and optimal ground support parameters, parameters for stope / development and barricade design and appropriate stope fill parameters.

In order to be successful in this role you must possess the following:
• Bachelor Degree with Honours in Engineering Geology. Alternatively a Degree in Mine Engineering or Geology with an MSc in Geotechnical Engineering.
• 10 plus years experience of geotechnical experience predominantly in an underground environment
• Strong leadership with focus towards Health & Safety work practices.
• Highly developed analytical and communication skills
• Experience and ability to lead and motivate groups to ensure optimum performance and team development
• Strong computer skills in mining related systems.
