Planning
It is important to recognise that international removals are totally different from UK domestic removals. Apart from packing, loading and documentation differences it is also important to start your planning earlier. PSS recommend that you request an estimate of your removal costs 3 to 6 months prior to your departure date. PSS operates throughout the UK. We have estimators and mobile packing units covering the whole of the British Isles and can offer the most professional and most cost effective service from anywhere in the UK to anywhere in Australia.
Free Estimates – No Obligation
We will be pleased to arrange a home visit from one of our estimators who will survey your international removal requirements, offer advice and explain our packing methods. Our estimator’s visit will be followed by a written estimate of the door-to-door costs, accompanied by a list of the items to be sent and a cubic volume.
Full/Sole Use Container Removals
If you have a sufficient quantity of household effects to fill an entire container, we will export pack and wrap all your possessions at your residence. Using the best export strength padded wrapping materials, cartons and wood cases, we will number and list the packages then load and seal the container in your presence at your residence. The shipping transit time is approximately 4-6 weeks to Australia.
Shared Container Removals
If you do not have a sufficient quantity of household effects to fill an entire container, we will export pack and wrap your possessions in your home, mark, number and list every package and return them to our warehouse for loading into our 'share a container' service. The transit time is approximately 8-12 weeks to Australia.
Quarantine
All shipments entering Australia are subject to inspection by AQIS, The Australian Quarantine Inspection Service. Quarantine inspection charges cannot be included in our door-to-door estimates because the charge varies according to the amount of time spent on each inspection. The officer can order individual items to be fumigated/cleaned or treated and the costs for this will be charged to you. PSS also offer excess baggage services and storage both in the UK and Australia.
